IRWA's Shelley Roberts Testifies in DC on behalf of Idaho's Rural Communities

(Washington, DC) April 15, 2011, Shelley Roberts, representing the Idaho Rural Water Association (IRWA) and the National Rural Water Association (NRWA) testified before U.S. Representative Mike Simpson (ID), Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies.

NRWA, the country's largest community-based water organization, provides technical assistance and compliance training to ensure federal regulations don't overwhelm small and rural communities' resources. This is the main source of compliance and assistance for small and rural communities to meet federal standards. Small communities comprise more than 90 percent of the over 50,000 water supplies in the states. Ms. Roberts’ full testimony is available by clicking here.
